Canopy is a marketing tool for senior living communities, operated by Dalton Creative LLC. This policy explains what data Canopy handles on your behalf, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language on purpose.
Who we are
Canopy is a product of Dalton Creative LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“Canopy,” “we,” “us”). Canopy is used by senior living operators and the agencies that serve them to keep a community’s public presence current. You can reach us at todd@dalton-creative.com.
Information we collect
We collect only what the product needs to do its job:
Account information you give us: your name, email, role, and the communities you manage.
Community content you create or upload: brand settings, event details, photos, flyers, social drafts, and notes.
Family and lead information you enter or import: contact details and pipeline status for prospective residents and their families.
Connected-service data you authorize us to read on your behalf (see the Google section below).
Usage information: basic analytics about how the app is used, so we can keep it working and improve it.
Data accessed through Google
When you connect a Google account, you grant Canopy read access to specific Google services so we can show that information inside your dashboard. Canopy’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google Business Profile: we read your community’s reviews (rating, text, reviewer name, date, and whether a reply exists) so you can see and respond to them in Canopy. When you approve a reply, we post it back to Google on your behalf.
Google Analytics: we read aggregate website metrics (visits and page views) to display traffic in your reports.
We use this Google data only to provide these features to you. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone except the infrastructure providers below that are needed to run the service. We do not use Google user data to train AI models. You can disconnect Google at any time in Connections, which stops all further access.
How we use your data
To operate the product: show your dashboard, generate flyers and posts you request, and produce your reports.
To keep your account secure and the service reliable.
To communicate with you about the service.
Content generation uses AI providers to draft copy and images from the information you supply. You review and approve everything before it is used or published. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.
Service providers we rely on
Canopy runs on trusted infrastructure. These providers process data only to provide their service to us: cloud hosting and application delivery, a managed database, call-tracking (when you connect it), and AI providers for content and image generation. Each is bound to handle data only as needed to run Canopy.
How we protect and keep your data
Connection credentials are encrypted. Access to a community’s data is scoped to that community’s authorized users. We keep your data for as long as your account is active and delete it when you ask us to or after your account closes, unless we are required to keep it longer by law.
Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data by contacting us at todd@dalton-creative.com.
You can disconnect any connected service at any time.
You can close your account, and we will delete its data as described above.
Children
Canopy is a business tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use Canopy after a change means you accept the updated policy.
